The Science of Float

Floatation therapy is based on a scientific approach to deep relaxation called Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique. Floating triggers a relaxation response, much deeper than normal sleep, activating theta brain waves.  With the elimination of external stimuli, the central nervous system’s workload is reduced by as much as 90%. This triggers the parasympathetic response, the mechanism by which the body naturally regenerates itself and maintains chemical and metabolic balance.

Theta waves represent the bran in a state of REM sleep, hypnosis and lucid dreaming. Theta is the twilight state between the conscious and subconscious.  While in the theta state, the mind is capable of profound learning, healing and personal growth.

In addition, magnesium helps regulate the activity of more than 300 enzymes in the body. Because it’s readily absorbed through the skin, a float is an ideal way to restore MG levels.
